Enrolment at Eskisehir Technical University & Change of Learning Agreement

After your arrival in Eskişehir, the first stop is the Office for International Affairs. Please tell your Mentor to take you directly to our office. We will give you a welcome package and inform you on the following procedures.

The next stop is your Departmental Coordinator and Student Affairs of your Faculty. You may use the assistance of your Mentor again. First, meet your Departmental Coordinator then go to Student Affairs and finalize your registration.

  • The documents you need to present following documents for the enrolment at Eskisehir Technical University:
    • Copy of your student identity card given by your own University
    • Copy of the first and last pages of your passport
    •  6 photos (passport size)
    • Copy of your Acceptance Letter

After the registration, you will be given:

-        Username and password

User name and password is necessary for the access to the online registration program. Using this password your coordinator can assist you choosing your courses from that program. In addition you will be able to follow all your courses and schedule at the same program.

-        Eskisehir Technical University Student Identity Letter and Foreign Student Information Sheet

Eskisehir Technical University Student Identity Letter and Foreign Student Information Sheet are necessary for getting the resident permit from Police Station.

-        Eskisehir Technical University Student Identity Card

Eskisehir Technical University Student Identity Card is a card that shows you are a student of Eskisehir Technical University. However, it can be given by the Student Affairs about 2 weeks after your registration. During the first month without your Identity Card you can use your “Eskisehir Technical University Student Identity Letter” for the main entrance and the other places. (Library, swimming pool, clubs, etc.)

 

After you get all these documents go to your Departmental Coordinator, access the system with him/her and choose your courses. Please keep in mind that you can take any course from any faculty as long as the course hours are not overlapped. You can also take the courses recommended by your departmental coordinator.

Change of Learning Agreement:

It is important to know the courses that you choose in your first Learning Agreement may not be available during the registration week or there may not be enough seats for the courses or you may want to take any other courses. If this situation occurs, you need to prepare a second Learning Agreement (add-delete page) with your Departmental Coordinator at Eskisehir Technical University. Please do not forget to prepare second Learning Agreement (add-delete page) soon after choosing your actual courses.

 

Orientation

Our three-day orientation usually begins on the first Tuesday of the official semester start and ends with our traditional welcome dinner on Thursday. On the first day ESN Anadolu (Erasmus Student Network) will introduce you to the student life of Eskisehir Technical University and give you information about trips, social awareness projects and other interesting work of ESN. Beside information and presentations there will be campus tours to both campuses, a breakfast on the second day with subsequent city tour and the welcome dinner/-party on the third day.

The attendance is not compulsory but we strongly recommend you to join the orientation days.

 

Residence Permit

All international students in Turkey, regardless of status, must obtain a Residence Permit (ikamet belgesi) from Office for Foreigners (Yabancılar Şubesi). That means after your arrival when you are sure about your permanent address, you need to apply for a residence permit. According to the Turkish Government regulations, residence permit application should be submitted within one month of your arrival.

Please note that if you fail to depart Turkey by the expiration date on the residence permit document, you will have to pay a penalty.

Before Leaving

At the end of the semester before leaving, you need to have the Certificate of Clearance signed by certain departments like library, sports center faculty labs, Office for International Affairs etc. After collected all the signatures you need to submit this document to your faculties’ student affairs (where you have finalized your registration on your very first day). It is a crucial document for you to get your Transcript of Records and Confirmation Letter. Your Transcript of Records will be directly sent to your University after your departure.
